What should I do with my new dog severe separation anxiety?
The dog is a border collie mix and year living with us for two months. He is very polite and well behaved when around him. Every time we leave our house, start whining and barking immediately, scratches in the door trying to leave the house. We have tried to cash process, use products like Comfort Zone with DAP homeopet drops of anxiety, bark collars, etc. and nothing worked. We said that regular exercise, practice our comings and goings for short periods of time and plenty of chew toys like Kongs, stuffed animals, and bones to occupy during the day. Our vet recommended we see an animal behavior and to put our dog on Prozac essential dog. Behaviorists have talking to will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $ 450 to $ 600.
