Why everyone wants a dog for free?
Does anyone realize that they need money for these things? Collars, leashes, food for dogs, veterinary bills, money in hand if your dog gets sick, or cable, or otherwise. The money for training, if you own a dog again. Grooming. The list is long. Renee, I understand that people want to adopt, and is very good, and I commend people for that. But I hate when people ask for a free dog, because they know that probably will not spend much more money than simple adoption rates.
Unfortunately, many ignorant (which means "not known" and not "stupid") people (although many of them would be stupid.) Either they do not believe that animals are sentient beings and should be part of the family or did not know how much it costs to properly care for a pet. I mean, there are people out there who do not even know how to properly care for their children. All you have to do is look at the news paper to see the atrocities that some parents for their children. When confronted, they say they had no idea what they were doing was wrong (and illegal in many cases.) I think many people do not take into account how different and how our pets are like humans. They give them human qualities, where not exist ( "Puppy knew it was wrong for urinating on the floor when it was Mom." No, Puppy mom knew that every time he came home, she has been punished so bent on the corner waiting to happen. Puppy had no idea that was shouted out to get something he has done 3 hours ago) and deny that they have qualities of man, when exist ( "It's just a dog. He can not feel pain when you kick it.") Sorry. I was on a tangent, right? I am surprised and dismayed when I consider how most people do not know when to me it is just common knowledge.
