What laws does law enforcement have about the service dogs in public places?
I have a small police department in the city dog.The trained Chief says that only dogs for the blind and deaf are permitted in public places.I have papers from my doctor stating that I'm having my dog at least I times.IS police chief LAW DOGS only for blind or deaf CAN BE in public places.?? My dog wears a vest service dog in public.
I work in the service industry and let me tell you that all assistance dogs of all kinds should be allowed to enter public places. But they must wear their vest and you must have not only doctors' orders, but also the certification of service dogs. If the chief of police is trying to give a hard time while kindly leave and contact a lawyer and check on a trial for violation of the rights of the disabled. He can not go anywhere part but at least you send a wake up call to the head. Good luck.
