Device Trainer
Cycling trainer?
Has anyone in the crowd ever used the device called a trainer? It’s designed to raise the rear wheel off of the ground so you can ride indoors. Is there one that is better than another? Quality vs. price? Thanks.
There are several different types of trainers. Some work on fluid resistance, some use magnetic and some use wind resistance. I have one that uses centrifugal force. I’ve had it for a few years and it works great. Check it out at www.1upUSA.com. The other types can be found at www.performancebikes.com or ww.nashbar.com. Some of the better bike shops in your area might also stock some. I think all types of trainers require that you have a quick-release skewer on your rear wheel. If you plan on using it a lot, don’t go cheap. I use mine 3-4 hours a day in bad weather and had no problem.
